FEEDLOT Technician, fulltime (Starting position)
Job Description: Namaka is a family-run operation that is looking for employees that are interested in being part of the feedlot/farm crew. Employees will be cross-trained on the various duties of the farm over time. The goal is to have a strong team of employees who are able to support one another. While experience is appreciated, people without experience are also welcome. Namaka is comfortable with training people who have never been on a farm.
Duties will consist of:
1) Feeding and caring for animals (including pen riding on horseback)2) Injecting and treating cattle3) General maintenance of the facility (fixing fences, water troughs, etc.)4) Planting, spraying and harvesting crops5) Operation and maintenance of equipment (tandem trucks, loaders, tractors, combines, grader, excavator, …)6) Construction projects to help facilitate expansion of the feedlot 7) Maintaining general farm and treatment records Please Note: At our Saskatchewan location there will be a larger focus on the construction of the facility upfront.
